Occupational Therapist - Wheelchair Solutions Specialist

Centrex Rehab is looking for an Occupational Therapist Wheelchair Solutions Specialist to work full-time at various facilities within the greater Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.

This individual will provide Occupational Therapy services to any individual who requires skilled intervention. This includes evaluation, treatment, in-servicing, consulting with other disciplines and documentation required to efficiently meet each resident/patient’s needs. This individual will also provide supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(s). These services will be provided in accordance with “Centrex Rehab” policies and procedures, AOTA guidelines, and state and federal regulations. This individual will also be able to provide in-services for nursing staff and/or other organizations on the definition and function of Occupational Therapy.

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist within the state or under temporary licensure
  • Certified through NBCOT or ability to become certified
  • Wheelchair seating/positioning and/or specialized seating experience preferred
  • Understanding of payor sources and prior authorization procedures
  • Ability to vary schedule to meet the needs of clients, including weekends if necessary
  • Ability to perform administrative functions in regards to billing for OT department, personal timekeeping, assisting in collection of statistics, and ordering of supplies as needed
  • Ability to effectively supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(s)
  • Must be eligible to work in the Federal Health programs
  • CPR certified, if required for assigned site or role
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with a positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality
  • Effective clinical problem solving skills
  • Reliable and prompt attendance as scheduled
  • Computer literacy; basic MS Office knowledge
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
